Investigation Experience
As a police officer and police sergeant, Jeff has investigated over an estimated 2000 collisions involving all types of land based vehicles.
Within those 2000 collisions are 33 fatal collision reconstructions involving 36 fatalities.
53 Reconstructions have been done on other serious injury collisions.
Sgt. Jones has been called upon by other law enforcement agencies in Lancaster County to assist in their serious and fatal investigations.
Sgt. Jones has worked many civil cases nationwide with an expert in Biomechanics and Kinematics as well as his own independant civil investigations. Sgt. Jones has also worked many Commercial vehicle cases in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania area with a CMV expert.
Sgt. Jones was recruited by Penn State University to teach the PA. Deputy Sheriff's Training Academy cadets in accident investigation and reporting. Sgt. Jones instructs cadets in basic accident investigation techniques, evidence collection, scene mapping, scene photography, witness interviewing, evidence interpretation and Haz Mat.
Court Experience
Over the course of Sgt. Jones' police career he has testified in hundreds if not thousands of criminal and traffic cases.
Ruled an Expert in Accident Reconstruction in Lancaster Court of Common Pleas 8 times by 4 different Judges. [6 Criminal and 2 Civil cases]
Ruled an Expert in Accident Reconstruction by the Pennsylvania Superior Court 2 times. [Comm. V. Petroll and Comm. V. Matroni]
Ruled an Expert in Accident Reconstruction by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court [Comm. V. Petroll]
To date all individuals charged by Sgt. Jeff Jones for Homicide by Vehicle or Homicide by Vehicle While DUI have been found guilty by Judge or Jury or they have plead guilty prior to trial.
